I feel spring coming on!

  • Join me in celebrating! No vestal virgins required!

  • And a super moon, too! It doesn’t get better than this!

I thought I had posted this ages ago.

This is that latest piece of art being display at Le Musée du Dernière Cornelison. It is on loan from the artist. The piece is named “Cuppa”.

I need to thank the artist, Ms. Trudy Koszarek for allowing me to see it every day. It brings a smile to my face each time I notice it. Sète is memorialized for damn near forever.

Happy Birthday, Aunt Kathryn!

Hard to believe that today would be your 110th birthday. You always seemed so young and vibrant and happy. I miss you!

I hope you are dancing a jig up there!

And Happy St. Paddy’s day to everyone else! Guinness and Jamison’s on the house!

The week in rearview mirror!

I have to say it has been an amazing week.

It started Sunday morning, with daylight savings time. I had to reset all my clocks. (Okay, there are only three, but the task is daunting and tiring!)Then the electricity went out. I got cold, so I started a fire in the wood stove. I do like the heat from a wood fire. All was good with the world and four hours later the power came back on. And then I had to reset all the clocks again. I’m sure you understand my exhaustion!

Then Monday evening I lost internet. That lasted for about 36 hours. I was cut off from the world.
Internet finally returned Wednesday morning. And a couple of hours later the electricity went out again, this time only for an hour and a half or so. Then sometime the power went out again and then the internet went out again. Or vice versa. Who knows?

I woke up this morning convinced it was Sunday. Siri corrected me. Many of you know that Siri and I have had our moments before, but this was the first time she had every called me a “blithering idiot!”

You understand that I was incensed. But it turn out she was right. So I had to apologize for my long harangue of “expletives deleted”.

It’s just the week seemed so long!

It’s International Women’s Day!

To all the women who have helped shape my life: mother, sisters, friends, co-workers and arch-nemeses, thank you!

You made me the person I am today. (I’m not trying to assign blame, just stating the facts.)

Enjoy your day! Have fun! Whether you chose to eat cake or riot in the streets, do it with joy!

Another day in the fields of snow!

The morning started ominously.

I had set up the coffee maker last night so that all I had to do was push a button and voilà, coffee would be ready before I was done with my morning duties in the bathroom.

I poured myself a cup, and went into my winter office, turned on the computer and took a sip. Damn, that was the weakest coffee I had ever made! (Please note: I was in Prague. It is a mug with a dark interior. I had no idea what I was pouring into the cup!)

I stormed back into the kitchen mad as hell and sure my coffee maker had screwed up big time! Well, to make a long story short, it seems I forgot to put any coffee into the basket that is supposed to house the grounds. My bad.

So, I went through the whole process of making coffee again and hit the magic “Brew” button. I went back to my computer and read the news until I heard the blessed “BEEP… BEEP… BEEP” letting me know the coffee was ready!

Imagine my surprise when I toddled back into the kitchen and found water dripping off the counter top. It seems that if you don’t put the basket holding the coffee back into the machine, it shoots water into the air. So, I got to dry off the kitchen and make coffee again.

On the bright side; when a day starts this bad, you know it has to get better!

And it has been over a week since it has been above freezing. Snowmageddon's aftermath lives on!

I just read that Katherine Helmond has passed.

We have lost an incredibly good comedic actress. And I love to laugh, hence I adore Ms. Helmond.

Rest in Peace, Jessica Tate.
