124 Hours Later

Electricity has returned to our little corner of the world. While that has modest worth of note in cosmic reality, it is really important to my little family. I seem to be attached to two cats, two dogs and a man of a certain age who would not have enjoyed being a pioneer family. Our discussions of the 1890's grew curt and neared hostility.

Each of us, and I do include myself in this description, is drawn to the artificial brightness of a lightbulb this evening. We are lapsing into an unusual worship of electronic equipment. The coffee grinder is nearing beatification in my book. Richard doesn’t argue the point.

Oh, and tomorrow morning, my shower will not include gasping for breath and growing numb from the heartlessness of the bitterly cold water. I will have a warm shower!

Shall we all break into a quick rendition of the 'Hallelujah Chorus'
