The snow has stopped falling. We got our two feet. Wednesday was spent digging out. All was good, until…
Freezing rain: the scurge of the masses.
This is the ice storm of legends. There are trees down on 13th Street, Wy’east Road, Dee Highway, Hood River Highway, Miller Road, Belmont Drive, Davis, Sylvester… The list goes on infinitum. The Hood River News will soon only report about trees that haven’t fallen.
Oddly, falling trees have a tendency to take power lines with them when they go. I think it is something of a homicide/suicide relationship.
Electricity is a luxury these days. Richard and I know no luxuries. We lost our power yesterday at about 10:30AM. We don’t know when it will be back, but “no time soon” is the current estimate. After years of little use, the wood stove has become our hero!
