Yes, it is I
Khover T. Ageante.
With the amazing Princess Idelle Chattre of Tschirle behind me.
Princess Idelle of Tschirle's country is immediately next to Alsace-Laverne.
The Duke of Alsace-Laverne is anxious to annex Tschirle, making the kingdom of Alsace Laverne and Tschirle.
Nasty war brewing there!

I tried to do Richard’s taxes today.
But, of course there are complications. From the federal
side, we weren’t married, from the state of Oregon side, we weren’t domestic
partners. Yes, we could have crossed the river and been married in Washington,
and yes, we could have settled for second class citizenship in Oregon with
domestic partnership. We vetoed both ideas as settling for less than equality.
We thought of them as admitting that we weren’t as good as straight people. And
now I’m not sure they will pay it out to the checking account Richard and I
have shared for 17 years now. Do they have no way to check history?
And because I have no status, even though Richard’s name is
still on the bank account, the refund may go unclaimed.
It is a small price to pay for marriage equality.
I am glad that this is the last time I will have to agonize
over Richard’s taxes.
But it won’t be the last time I agonize over my loss.
The Vernal Equinox!
It is spring. A time of rebirth!
Break out the vestal virgins and let the party begin!

Okay, I am officially pissed.
My oncologist, shortly after my visit on January 3rd,
put in a request to my insurance company for a CT scan. This is not radical treatment;
this is exactly what Richard went through and what was explained to me that I
would go through, even before I had surgery.
I received a letter in mid-January from my insurance
company, saying that they received the request and would respond in a timely
manner.
I received an email yesterday (okay, not exactly an email,
but close), putting off my appointment for a week, with no disclosed reason.
I received a letter today from my insurance company,
explaining that they received a request from my thoracic surgeon, requesting
that I have a CT scan, and that they would respond in a timely manner.
For those of you who rail against the ACA. It isn’t the ACA,
it is the insurance companies.
If I find a boyfriend in Canada or France (or any other
civilized country), I will be out of here so quick your head will spin!
